July 22 to 28, 2012

After a resounding success in 2011, the brass workshop is back this year under the supervision of four specialists Alain Cazes, tuba and director workshop director, Edward Carroll, trumpet, Douglas Hill, horn and James Box, trombone.

This intensive one week workshop will enable the students to develop their skills in all aspect of the playing of their instrument: tone, technique, intonation, articulation and musicality.

In addition to the masterclasses, the workshop will include reading session of orchestral repertoire, small ensembles, brass ensembles and many lectures on topic related to the musician life. Ensembles will be formed on site, but pre-formed groups are welcome to apply as well. Each ensemble will contribute to the final concert.

From these activities hosted in round robin method by the four professors will emerge a healthy competitive spirit that will transcend the limitations of individual instruments, and present students with a great diversity of viewpoints. A totally unique workshop!
