Jimmy Brière
Jimmy Brière is leading a very active career as soloist, chamber musician and teacher. He has been soloist with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Québec Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Francophonie Canadienne and I Musici de Montréal, to name a few.
Outside Canada, he has been invited by the South Bend Symphony, the Pleven and Ruse Philharmonics in Bulgaria and the Orchestra Classica of Porto.
He is a regular guest of the major festivals in Canada, such has the Lanaudière Festival, the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival and the Festival of the Sound of Parry Sound. He has also been heard in recitals and chamber music concerts in Dallas, Cleveland, Chicago, Indianapolis, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
First Prize of the Hong Kong International Competition, prize winner of the Porto International Competition and Gold Medal of the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, Jimmy Brière is Guest Professor at the Université de Montréal since 2004. He has also given master classes at the Orford Arts Centre, the Glenn Gould School in Toronto and at the Winona State University in Minnesota.
