Jutta Puchhammer-Sédillot
A native of Vienna, violist Jutta Puchhammer-Sédillot studied at the Vienna Hochschule für Musik. A member of the Vienna Nonett and the Austrian Radio Symphony Orchestra from 1980 to 1985, she toured Japan and the principal cities of Europe. Currently based in Montreal, Jutta Puchhammer-Sédillot directs the string area at the Université de Montréal’s Music Faculty. She is a founding member of the Montreal String Trio, the Kegelstatt Trio and the Claudel Quartet, and principal viola with the Grands Ballets Canadiens and the Laval Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with renowned artists such as Janos Starker, Angela Cheng, Yuli Turovsky and Chantal Juillet. As chamber musician, she has recorded for Ummus and Analekta, and a debut solo recording of German romantic fantasies has been released recently on the ATMA label.
