Frédérika Petit-Homme

In recent seasons, Frédéricka Petit-Homme sang the roles of Vitellia in The Clemency of Titus at the Summer Opera Lyric Theatre under the artistic direction of Guillermo Silva-Marin. She performed in Mozart’s Requiem and Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass with the McGill Chamber Orchestra conducted by Boris Brott. We also heard her as Ilia (in Idomenio) at the Schulich School of Music Opera Workshop. In 2004 and 2008, she held the role of the third witness in L’Archange, an opera installation created by Chants Libres.

Frédéricka Petit-Homme completed her master’s degree under Robert Ingari and Dr. Julian Wachner at McGill University in 2004. She also participated in several conducting master classes, including Chorus America in 2003 and the Bach International Festival with Helmuth Rilling at the University of Toronto in 2005.

During two years, she was Maestro Jean-François Rivest’s assistant with the Orchestre symphonique de Laval, where she prepared the chorus for performance, and she has collaborated with many Canadian artists such as Natalie Choquette, Laurence Jalbert, Guy Marchand, and Dan Taylor.

Recently, she was Chorus Director for the albums Il Tempo starring Québécois singer Michaël, and Natalie Choquette’s Aeterna Celesta and Terra Mia. She is presently Director of a women’s chorus in Montréal: the Harmonia Westmount Women's Choir.
