Marc Durand
Canadian pianist Marc Durand has enjoyed a versatile career as a soloist, collaborative artist and pedagogue for more than forty years. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras and has been heard regularly on Canadian radio and television. He also made many recordings and toured extensively in North America, Europe, North Africa, Asia, Indonesia and Australia. He is currently full professor of piano at the Faculty of Music of the University of Montreal and is also a visiting artist and program advisor for the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
Since 1978, Marc Durand's commitment to psycho-pedagogical research has distinguished him as one of the foremost Canadian teachers of both piano and piano pedagogy. He is regularly invited to give master classes and judge competitions throughout Canada and the United States. Many of his students have won top prizes in the most prestigious national and international competitions. Several of them have graduated with Masters and Doctorate degrees and are now pursuing major careers
