Violin professor at Indiana University, Mr. Fuks began his violin studies in his native Uruguay. After graduating from the Juilliard School of Music where he studied with Joseph Fuchs and Ivan Galamian, he furthered his training with Jasha Heifetz.
Now retired from a distinguished international career as concertmaster, chamber musician, and soloist, he devotes himself entirely to teaching. He is a regular visiting professor at the Hochschule Mozarteum Salzburg, the University of Limerick in Ireland, the Royal Academy of Music and the Yehudi Menuhin School in London, and gives master classes all over the world.
Mauricio Fuks is regarded as one of the finest violin teachers of our time.
