What’s more exciting and fun when you’re a child than a school outing! Especially if the activity offers you the chance to discover the arts, and actively interact and share with your friends… The Orford Art Centre’s Young Audience Program is designed precisely to provide
this unforgettable experience to your students.
Primary and secondary school students are brought to the heart of beautiful Mont–Orford National Park for an educational and captivating experience surrounded by nature. Musical performances, creative workshops in visual arts, music and theatre, as well as scientific workshops held in collaboration with Mont-Orford National Park’s natureguides, are offered.
All of these activities are made possible due to our impressive grounds and buildings, which include the 500-seat Gilles-Lefebvre Concert Hall, a large dining room, a 87-room inn, and over 222 acres of terrain connected by park trails. Our various packages allow you to create the school trip you want by combining professional musical performances with a myriad of creative artistic workshops and scientific or sportive activities. Learning guides are also available for each performance to help you prepare your students and track their progress.
Since the Orford Arts Centre is recognized as a professional music presenter, it is possible for you to make a request for financial assistance under the MELS’s Culture in the Schools Program. Alternatively, you can also make a direct application to the Orford Arts Centre who administers the MCCCF’s Mesure de soutien aux sorties culturelles program, offering the possibility of covering a part of your transportation costs.
You can also apply for a grant, available through a generous sponsorship from the Great-West Life Company, London Life and Canada Life, which can finance up to 50% of your transportation costs. This transportation program is administered by the Orford Arts Centre, and by combining it with one of two government programs it is possible to cover 50% to 100% of travel expenses related to your excursion.
Finally, this year we welcome a new partner, Telus, who, through their generous donation, will help us provide cultural workshops at a very low price.
Come discover the Orford Arts Centre, a cultural jewel of the Eastern Townships. We are happy to welcome you and share with your students our passion for the arts and nature.
